Like the past three year, Indonesian Gov had already plan to compensating fuel price hike with Direct Cash Assistance (Bantuan Langsung Tunai/BLT) to ‘the poor.’ Some economists said that this is a truly bribe to ‘the poor’ voter, since Indonesia will hold Presidential election next 2009.
WHY???
Many Indonesian economists and people now can really feel the trick lassoed by The Berkeley Mafia. Their positions in government office are so ‘dhollim’ to the Indonesian and Muslims. They are the agent of neoliberal capitalist corporation and agencies. If John Perkins call them The Economic Jackal, we, Indonesian, call them The Comprador. As we can identified, they are Sri Mulyani as Finance minister, Boediono, Coordinator minister for economic, who this month transfered to be the Governor of Indonesia Central Bank (Gubernur BI), Abu Rizal Bakrie, Coordinator minister for social welfare. Their policies are not directed to be pro-ummah, but pro-market. The Indonesian history and practice of oil and gas production are awesome, but the Maff policies and statistical game make it looks like terrible, so Government ‘need to safe the national budget.’
Indeed, there are many other alternatives to safe the budget instead making people live in harsh condition. Indonesia could postpone its agenda to pay debt as Argentina did. If government can save the debt-paid money (hundreds of trillion rupiah/millions of US dollar), Indonesia can invest these money to oil exploration and improve oil and gas management.
Meanwhile, Indonesia can kick-off Oil and Gas MNC’s that operate in Indonesia, which is stealing Indonesia’s resources (not limited to Oil and Gas, for example Freeport that dig in the overwhelm gold and copper in Papua). That definitely will safe national budget, and also guarantee public prosperity and ummah awakening.
How about Indonesia’s image in the International community or the MNC’s responses then?
Well, actually there are many Indonesian that own MNC’s. Name it, Abu Rizal Bakrie, Sukanto Tanoto, Djarum holders, etc. It’s mean, we will cope with West and ‘Pribumi’ Capitalist. But, who own the country? This Ummah. Still, government with public support and demand, can negotiate with them. What is the foreign dept. and State-Owned-Corporation-Ministry for? Just to stamp Indonesian-servants-workers passport and raised foreign capital,to sale off Indonesian great abundance resources)? Of course not.
Indonesia have a great human resource to compete with the West and domestic capitalists. We just need to conscious them.
That is a little bit note from me
